The two day 16 hour Forest School First Aid course is an outdoor first aid course designed for dealing with children from 1 year of age upwards and includes their potential illnesses and injuries of young children as well as those of adult helpers.
As Forest Schools become a fantastic and common way of delivering the EYFS framework, having children in an outdoor play and learning environment is not without risk. Most of these risks can be well managed by good risk assessment, but first aid plays an important part in giving staff confidence to take children outside.
This course covers subjects not covered on a conventional Ofsted approved Paediatric First Aid, including focus on injuries caused by fire, falls for trees and outdoor play equipment and emphasis on environmental related conditions such as heat exhaustion and hypothermia.
This course is most suited to:
All those that work in a Forest School or nursery that require this first aid qualification.
