This course is designed to teach delegates the correct methods in moving, handling and lifting to ensure that the risk of injury is reduced or eliminated. This course is tailored to client specific tasks.

One of the common occupational injuries is that of musculoskeletal disorders. This is often caused through incorrect moving and handling of loads, awkward postures or heavy manual labour.

This course covers the problems associated with Manual Handling and sets out the best practices in dealing with them.

Employers are required to:

avoid   - the need for hazardous manual handling so far as reasonably practicable

assess - the risk of injury from any hazardous manual handling that can't be avoided

reduce - the risk of injury from hazardous manual handling so far as reasonably practicable

We can come and deliver this training at your workplace where you have the flexibility of starting the course as early as you would like or alternatively you can request a later start on a date of your choice that suits you and your staff.

Each student will receive a colourful, comprehensive manual and a certificate that will be valid for 3 years.

Assessment: You will be required to successfully complete a short multiple choice paper to qualify for your certificate.

The outcome of the course will enable staff to identify the hazards of manual handling, the risks involved and controls available. They will then be able to contribute to the development of safer methods with the co-operation of management.
